Longarm Machine Quilting

Many quilters enjoy piecing quilt tops but prefer not to do the quilting themselves. Our longarm quilting services let you focus on what you love—designing, choosing fabrics, and piecing—while we handle the quilting with precision and care. Preparing Your Quilt For Best Results

The more care you take in preparing your quilt top, the better your finished quilt will look.

Secure SeamsRemove Threads & Pins – Clip all loose thread tails and remove stray threads, as they can shadow through the quilt. Make sure there are no pins remaining.

Remove Embellishments – Please take off any buttons, beads, or other decorative items before quilting.

Press Thoroughly – Quilt top and backing must be completely pressed, with seams lying flat.

Check for Flatness – Lay the quilt top on a flat surface and look for fullness, puffiness, wavy edges, or “lettuce leaf” borders. These issues can cause pleats or puckers during quilting.

Backing Requirements – Backing must be at least 6"–8" wider and longer than the quilt top. It must be squared, and selvages should be trimmed from inside seams to prevent pulling and puckering.

Backing Materials – We cannot accept bed sheets as backing due to their high thread count, which does not quilt well. Minkee is acceptable, but be aware it may stretch, creating a puffier quilt.

Centering Note – Perfectly centering a backing to the quilt top is not always possible. If this is important to you, let us know so we can discuss options. For best results, place the backing seam horizontally, as all quilts are loaded sideways on the machine.
